IPM (Inquérito Policial Militar) Volume 01 (1996)
This is the opening volume of a Brazilian Army Military Police Inquiry (Autos Findos N° 908/1997) instaurated 29 January 1997 at the Escola de Sargentos das Armas (EsSA) in Três Corações, Minas Gerais, with Tenente-Coronel Lúcio Carlos Finholdt Pereira as encarregado and 3° Sargento Vinicius Proba dos Santos as escrivão. The indictment names authors Vitório Pacaccini and Maxs Portes for the publication 'Incidente em Varginha,' which alleged that a suposed extraterrestrial creature was seen in the municipality. The volume reproduces a prior 1996 sindicância (Portaria n° 033-Aj G.2, 10 May 1996) led by Cel Cav René Jairo Fagundes, with sworn testimony from EsSA officers, sergeants, and corporals about the 22–25 January 1996 movements of Mercedes-Benz trucks sent to the AUTOMACO dealership in Varginha-MG for routine maintenance. Every witness denied knowing Ubirajara Rodrigues or Vitório Pacaccini and reported nothing unusual during the missions.
